Ian Wilson has been writing and publishing books since 1998. If you enjoy The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge, then the narrative style of his nine railway books will be familiar.
If you have not read any of these fascinating stories, you may wish to start with either of the Allandale volumes, Steam in Northern Ontario or Steam Memories of Lindsay. These four cover the Muskoka-area territory in which The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge is set (and more).
Conversely, if you have been a fan of his series on the twilight of the steam era on the Canadian National Railways (CNR) in Ontario, you will be further entranced by Ian’s first novel. Over the past several years of speaking with hundreds of readers face-to-face, Ian has been encouraged to apply his storytelling skills to the children’s fiction market. But we dare anyone, young or old, to pick up a copy of The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge and not read it! As for the railway books, one of the nine volumes is out of print, and two other titles are down to fewer than ten copies!
